My name is Tajinder (TJ) S. Rai, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#12272) and a member in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brandon University, my Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University, and my Masters of Counselling from Athabasca University. I have also completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). My background includes over 10 years of experience working with clients in various settings. This includes working with adults, children, youth, and families in a variety of settings including schools, non-profit organizations, and community mental health clinics. I continuously engage in ongoing professional development to ensure that my skills and practice are effective and current. These experiences allow me to develop a unique set of skills, and clinical expertise to work with children, adolescents, adults, and their families.
My approach to counselling is one that is client centered. Each individual brings their own unique experiences to counselling. Therefore, the counselling process will be tailored to fulfill each individual’s needs. You, the client, ultimately decide the goals, direction, and outcome of the counselling process. It is a process that is collaborative in nature. Although my therapy background includes training in CBT and DBT, I ensure that I use different therapy modalities to provide a service that is tailored to the needs of each unique client. The ultimate aim is to provide a service that reflects the underlying vision of 3C Counselling: Care, Compassion &a Confidence.
